Originally dedicated in 2001, Gas Light Alley was designed to evoke the atmosphere of an earlier downtown era, featuring decorative natural gas-fueled lighting and benches intended to create a quiet passage along the street. Over time, the alley fell into disrepair.

As the Woolworth’s restoration nears completion, improvements are underway in Gas Light Alley to complement the overall work. These updates focus on simplifying planting areas and ground features to create a cleaner, more cohesive look that feels renewed without losing its character.

Plants are being added to bring life and greenery to the alley.
