Steel Ledges Installed to Support Mosaic Façade at the Peoples Bank Building

Crews at the Peoples Bank building have begun installing steel support ledges along the exterior walls in preparation for the upcoming mosaic tile façade. These ledges are designed to carry the weight of the 2–3-inch-thick terra-cotta mosaic tiles that will be set on the building. To install the support ledges, steel specialists carefully drilled into the façade, then secured each ledge with heavy-duty fasteners, anchoring them firmly to the structure. With the ledges now in place, the building is one step closer to receiving its colorful Mediterranean Revival–style mosaic, a historic feature returning to the façade.
