Roof Eave Framework Is Installed at the Peoples Bank Building

Triangular wood framing pieces installed along façade.

The framework supporting the roof eave is taking shape along the upper façade of the historic Peoples Bank building as restoration continues. Crews are installing triangular wood framing pieces that extend outward from the building, forming the structural base for the overhanging roof edge.

Each piece is anchored to a ledger board mounted along the wall and reinforced with metal connector plates that secure the framing in place. Once complete, the framework will support the barrel tile roof edge, restoring a defining Mediterranean Revival feature also seen on the nearby historic Cleveland Street Post Office.
