European Café Brings Fresh, Made-from-Scratch Dining to Downtown Clearwater
Another independently owned business has opened its doors on Cleveland Street, continuing the steady expansion of restaurants, cafés and neighborhood destinations emerging throughout downtown Clearwater’s revitalizing Cleveland Street district.
Nourish & Nosh Bakery Bistro is now serving breakfast, coffee and fresh, made-from-scratch food inside the Atrium Building at 601 Cleveland Street, bringing a distinctive European café experience to the heart of downtown.
A new video released by the Cleveland Street Alliance highlights the bakery bistro and the philosophy behind it—fresh food, thoughtfully sourced ingredients and a tradition of baking and hospitality rooted in quality, craftsmanship and everyday gathering.
The name reflects that philosophy. Nourish means to sustain and strengthen, while nosh means to enjoy a light meal or snack. Together, they describe a welcoming bakery bistro where guests can stop for breakfast, coffee, lunch or a relaxed meal with friends, family or coworkers.
Originally from Helsinki, Finland, co-owner Nea Porta says the café was created around a simple idea: prepare food from scratch using clean ingredients, and become part of a growing downtown community.
“I think it’s very exciting to be here on Cleveland Street right now because it’s the beginning of all the development happening here. We’re looking forward to being part of it, and this location is perfect. I really like serving the downtown community, and I’m very proud of it.” —Nea Porta, Co-owner, Nourish & Nosh Bakery Bistro
Every morning begins before sunrise as bakers prepare pastries, breads and baked goods by hand. Throughout the day, breakfast, lunch and café offerings are prepared fresh using organic ingredients, seasonal produce and locally sourced dairy.
That commitment is reflected throughout the menu and the café itself—from Finnish baking traditions and Italian-style coffee to carefully prepared recipes built around fresh ingredients, simple techniques and quality craftsmanship.
Guests can choose from breakfast sandwiches, fresh bagels, crustless quiche, salads, pastries, cookies, organic coffee, house-made cold brew and a variety of gluten-free and specialty baked goods.
Located on the ground floor of the Atrium Building, Nourish & Nosh features a bright, glass-walled dining room and outdoor patio serving downtown workers, residents and visitors throughout the day.
As restoration, redevelopment, new businesses and entertainment destinations continue advancing across Cleveland Street, Nourish & Nosh represents another visible step in the district’s ongoing transformation—bringing fresh food, everyday activity and a distinctive neighborhood gathering place to the heart of downtown Clearwater.
Cleveland Street Alliance is leading a coordinated effort to revitalize downtown Clearwater through a series of historic restoration and redevelopment projects along Cleveland Street. Through sustained investment and a building-by-building approach, the initiative is restoring landmark properties, reactivating the corridor and reestablishing the district as a center of activity and commerce.
