Following completion of the underground plumbing work, crews are preparing the open floor areas at 623–627 Cleveland Street for a new concrete slab. Workers are backfilling, leveling and compacting soil where the existing slab was removed to accommodate new plumbing lines. A firm, even base prepares the floor for termite treatment, reinforcing steel, mesh and a vapor barrier before the new slab is poured.
