Crews use an excavator to remove steel beams, columns and framing from the 600 block, filling a large container as demolition progresses. The steel removal prepares the area for the fabrication and installation of new structural components. Removing the existing steel framing allows the project team to prepare the structure for new components designed to support the building’s future use.
