With the buildings removed from the site, demolition activity has moved below the surface as crews continue removing underground foundations at the future Family Entertainment Center. During this work, an earlier buried concrete foundation was uncovered beneath a portion of the property, revealing evidence of a previous phase of construction on the site.
The discovery highlights the layered history often found beneath older downtown properties, where buildings have been expanded, modified and rebuilt over time. As foundation removal and site clearing continue, the property moves closer to its next phase of redevelopment as the future Family Entertainment Center.
