Drywall Finishing Begins on the First Floor of the Woolworth Building

The first-floor walls take shape as crews begin the finishing process.

Crews at the Woolworth building have begun the finishing stage of drywall installation on the first floor—an important interior milestone in the ongoing restoration. After attaching each drywall panel with power tools, the team is now applying mesh tape and joint compound to fill the seams between panels. This process, known as mudding, creates a smooth, even surface in preparation for priming and paint. These finishing steps mark visible progress as the first-floor interiors start to take shape, moving the historic building closer to its restored and functional form.
