First-Floor Drywall Installation Progresses at the Woolworth Building

Drywall installation continues to advance on the first floor of the Woolworth building. Crews are shaping the interior walls that will define the retail space, hallways and adjoining rooms. Work begins with drywall panels secured along the lower half of each wall before moving upward to complete the upper sections. For smaller or uniquely angled areas, crews cut each piece to size for a precise fit. Using stilts and scaffolding, workers reach the higher points and fasten each panel to the metal framing with power tools. With every sheet installed, the open framework transforms into finished walls that bring the historic building closer to completion.
