Second-Floor Concrete Installation Preparations Underway at the Woolworth Building

Workers screw in metal to seal the second floor. — Crew members secure the second floor at the Woolworth building in preparation for a fresh concrete floor.

At the Woolworth building, crews are preparing structural upgrades on the second floor. They have readied the wooden decking for a layer of concrete to cover the floor. Metal sheets were cut and screwed in to secure the edges around the structural beams and walls. Portions of the decking were removed and replaced with stronger wood to prevent leakage onto the first floor when the concrete is poured. Once installed, the concrete will form a reinforced surface that provides the second floor with solid separation from the ground level.
