Dark Wood Wainscoting Installed in the Woolworth Building Lobby

At the Woolworth building, crews have begun installing dark wood wainscoting in the lobby, adding another period-authentic feature to the 1930s-inspired interior. Wainscoting is decorative wooden paneling applied to the lower portion of interior walls to provide both protection and architectural detail. Carpenters measured and cut each panel to ensure a clean fit along the walls, then checked that every section was level. Once aligned, the pieces were secured in place to create a unified and refined appearance. This installation enhances the lobby’s historically inspired character and the building’s authentic architectural detailing.
