Drain and Vent Plumbing Installed at the Woolworth Building

Plastic drainpipe installation in wall framing. — Vertical drainpipes run through metal studs as part of the new plumbing system.

Plumbers are installing new sections of black plastic drainpipe throughout the Woolworth building as part of the upgraded plumbing system. Crews position and align both vertical and horizontal pipes within the metal-stud framing, connecting them to the copper supply and vent lines overhead. The copper lines run parallel to the plastic drainpipes to create a complete and efficient plumbing network.

Once in place, crews secure each section with hangers and brackets to maintain proper alignment and slope—ensuring smooth wastewater flow and long-term reliability. This stage marks a key step forward in equipping the restored building with a modern, durable plumbing system that supports daily operations.
