Elevator Installation Underway at the Woolworth Building

Worker testing cab movement. — Technicians test the elevator cab’s movement.

Crews are installing the elevator at the Woolworth building, starting with the metal brackets and straight guide rails that form the track for the cab inside the shaft. With these supports in place, teams set the main elevator components and ran the wiring needed for the controls and safety systems. The crew installed the elevator cab and is ensuring it runs smoothly to each level. This work marks an important step toward bringing full vertical access to the building as restoration advances.
