Second Floor Concrete Pour Is Completed at the Woolworth Building

Crew members install a concrete floor on the Woolworth building’s second floor.

Crews at the Woolworth building apply a self-leveling concrete across the second floor. Concrete is pumped through a hose, directed across the floor decking and spread evenly with a smoothing paddle. Unlike standard concrete, this thin overlay flows easily to create a flat, uniform surface.

The finished layer strengthens the floor while improving fire resistance and soundproofing between levels. This is an essential step in preparing the building for its next stage of restoration.
