First Floor Framing Work Underway at the Woolworth Building

First floor framing under construction.
Crews start the framing process on the Woolworth building’s first floor.

Framing is underway on the first floor of the Woolworth building. Crews are installing top, bottom and vertical metal framing to form a sturdy skeleton for the building’s walls. Using lifts, crews can reach the higher wall sections.

Once the initial framing is in place, crews install steel bars that run through the prepunched holes in the vertical framing studs. These bars prevent twisting or buckling over time and ensure the stability of the walls in this expansive space.
