Skylight Framing Installed on Woolworth Building Roof

Crews completed the framing for the skylights at the Woolworth building, marking a significant step in restoration of the roof. To begin, six openings were cut into the wooden roof decking. The crew then constructed wooden frames—also known as curbs or upstands—around each opening. Installation of the skylight glass will follow once the roofing materials are in place. These raised frames are essential to ensure proper weatherproofing and energy efficiency once the skylights are installed.
