During demolition work on the second floor of the F.W. Woolworth Co. building, crews uncovered a concealed steel truss embedded in the floor system. This unexpected structural element was contributing to uneven flooring.

In order to proceed with leveling and restoration, the steel was carefully cut with a torch and removed, allowing carpenters to resume floor reconstruction as planned.
