Demolition crews complete the removal of the Woolworth building’s old roof structure, clearing more than 7,600 square feet of decking, insulation, wood joists and skylights. Workers used an elevated telehandler (a machine similar to a forklift) to safely lower materials from the upper roof, maintaining site safety throughout the operation.

This construction milestone opens the way for the next phase involving installation of a new wood-framed roof structure topped with a modern white single-ply roofing membrane, offering both historic continuity and energy efficiency.
