1930s-Style Bathroom Doors and Hardware Installed Inside the Woolworth Building

1930 bathroom door hardware installed
Vintage-style hardware is installed to match the building’s original era.

Crews at the Woolworth building have installed solid wood bathroom doors and partitions, continuing interior work rooted in the building’s 1930s design. Each door and partition was carefully fitted to the historic bathroom layouts, reflecting the proportions and materials commonly used during that era. Once installed, crews added vintage-style hardware—such as hinges and latches—selected to match fixtures typical of the 1930s. The weight, finish and operation of the hardware contribute quietly but meaningfully to the authenticity of the space. Together, the craftsmanship and period-correct details help recreate the feeling of stepping back into a Woolworth store from nearly a century ago, reinforcing the building’s restored character.
