Concrete Work Forms the Back Entry at the Woolworth Building

Crews form the Woolworth building back entry with concrete.

Crews are forming the back entryway of the historic Woolworth building, creating the concrete-filled opening that will frame the future lobby and upper-level office access. A steel frame was installed to define the entryway, after which concrete teams filled the void between the existing wall and the frame using small access holes positioned just above the top. Concrete crews used a power tool known as a concrete vibrator to ensure the concrete settled evenly throughout, forming a durable connection for the back entry structure.
