Restoration work continues on the historic Peoples Bank clock, a long-standing corner feature of the 1910 building at Cleveland Street and Fort Harrison Avenue. A lifelong horologist based in Tampa is restoring the clock’s copper exterior by removing built-up residue, stains and surface discoloration while preserving the original metal.
The process uses specialized chemicals selected to clean the copper without damaging its historic material. As the surface is treated, the clock’s warm copper tone begins to reemerge, preparing this downtown landmark for its return to working order.
