Roofing crew installs copper flashing along the barrel tile overhang.

Roofing crews completed the installation of copper flashing on the barrel tile roof overhang, restoring a defining architectural element of the Peoples Bank building. Copper flashing is significant in historic construction because it protects the roof from water intrusion while providing a durable, long-lasting material that develops a natural patina over time.

Selected for its historical appropriateness, the copper was carefully fitted using archival photos from the 1920s as a guide. The team meticulously reconstructed the overhang, preserving the building’s original character and craftsmanship. This work revives a distinctive feature that reflects both the artistry and heritage of Cleveland Street and ensures it endures for decades to come.
