Transom Window Installed Above Peoples Bank Lobby Entrance

Transom window installation above an interior doorway.
A craftsman installs the new multi-lite transom window above the lobby entrance.

Crews recently installed a multi-lite transom window above the lobby entrance at Peoples Bank. Finished with stained oak casing, the wood-framed window helps preserve the building’s historic character while allowing additional natural light into the interior spaces.

Completed transom window above the lobby entrance.
The completed transom window restores a traditional architectural feature above the lobby entrance.

Historically, transom windows were used in commercial buildings to improve airflow and share daylight between rooms before modern air conditioning became commonplace. The installation reflects the continued focus on incorporating traditional architectural details throughout the restoration of this 1910 landmark.
