Framing Is Installed on the Woolworth Building South Parapet

Framing is installed over the bonding beam on the south parapet.

As part of the ongoing restoration of the historic Woolworth building, crews removed the south parapet wall. Once demolished, a concrete bonding beam was poured along the full length of the south wall to connect the building’s sidewalls and strengthen the structure.

Following the concrete work, framing contractors set wall studs over the bonding beam. This prepares the surface for sheathing and ultimately the stucco finish that will return the parapet to its original form. The work ensures that the rebuilt parapet will be both historically accurate and structurally sound.
