Preparing the Peoples Bank Building for a Stronger, Weather-Ready Exterior

Crews at the Peoples Bank building are working along the building’s side elevations to prepare the exterior walls for new stucco. This step involves applying a thin coat of cement-based plaster that smooths the surface and creates a solid base for waterproofing. Because the building is historic, the goal is not just protection but balance—keeping water out while still allowing the original masonry to breathe. Once the coat is in place, a waterproofing layer can properly bond before the final stucco is added. This detailed work plays a critical role in protecting the building for decades to come.
