Restoration of Woolworth Building Floors

A key phase of the Woolworth restoration project was reinforcing the structure floor by floor. The team exposed 32 steel columns and inspected their condition down to the footings. Many were found to have significant corrosion from years of water intrusion and aging infrastructure.

Crews reinforced compromised sections with new steel plates and poured 70 cubic yards of new concrete to stabilize the foundation. This work ensured the restored building will retain its historical form while meeting modern load-bearing standards.
