Preparation is complete for sealing the exposed wood surfaces inside the historic Telephone Building. Restoration crews applied masking material to all surrounding areas, including ductwork, walls and windows in advance of applying a clear shellac treatment to the building’s original architectural wood elements.

The shellac acts as a barrier to reduce residual odors while preserving the character and appearance of the wood. Work on the application phase is set to begin immediately, continuing the careful restoration of this early 20th-century structure.
