They’ve applied a thick, cement-based plaster to smooth the surface and create a solid foundation for the waterproofing layer. This essential step not only protects the building from water but also allows the original masonry to breathe, maintaining the necessary balance for a historic structure. Once the plaster has set, the waterproofing layer will be added, followed by the final stucco finish. These steps are essential to ensuring the building’s long-term protection and durability.
