High-density cotton insulation, made from recycled denim, lines new interior walls at the historic Telephone Building.

A high-performance cotton insulation made from recycled blue jeans has been installed throughout the interior walls of the Telephone Building. This nontoxic alternative to fiberglass improves acoustic and thermal performance while meeting fire safety codes.

The insulation’s 0.95 Noise Reduction Coefficient ensures a quieter indoor environment, while its thermal resistance helps reduce energy consumption. The Cleveland Street Alliance continues to balance sustainable upgrades with historical preservation.
