Elevator Installation Preparations Underway at the Peoples Bank Building

Elevator crews have arrived at the historic Peoples Bank building to begin preparation work for the installation of a modern elevator. Before any major installation begins, each component—such as the vertical guide rails—is thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure smooth operation once the system is in use. Crews then prepare the elevator shaft and pit by installing the guide rails, hoisting machine and ropes the elevator cab will travel on once installed.

This early stage is critical for precision and safety, laying the groundwork for the next phase of installation—the elevator cab and electrical systems being added. Once complete, the elevator will provide full accessibility to both levels of the building while preserving its historic architectural character.
