Fire-Rated Ceiling Channels Are Installed Inside the Peoples Bank Building

Workers install ceiling channels from lift.
Installation staff fasten resilient channels across the ceiling framework from a scissor lift.

Installation continues overhead at the Peoples Bank building as crews secure fire-rated resilient channels (thin metal strips installed between framing and drywall to reduce sound transmission and vibration) across the ceiling structure.

Working from a scissor lift, workers fasten the metal slats into aligned rows, establishing a consistent framework that will support the finished ceiling system. These channels serve a critical role in the restoration. Designed to improve fire resistance and structural performance, they create a separation layer between the ceiling surface and the framing above, which is an essential upgrade as the historic building is adapted to meet modern safety standards.
