Barrel Tile Roofing Installation Underway at the Peoples Bank Building

Crews align curved tiles along the roofline.

Installation of barrel tile roofing is advancing at the Peoples Bank building, where crews work along the roofline to carefully position each piece. Fastening is completed with special materials to secure the tiles to the underlying structure while maintaining consistent alignment across the slope. Methodical placement ensures proper overlap and durability as the system progresses.

The curved green tiles reflect the building’s Mediterranean Revival character—reintroducing a defining architectural feature associated with early 20th-century commercial design in Clearwater. As additional rows are installed, the roof begins to resemble the building’s historic profile, restoring both form and material presence along the Cleveland Street corridor.
