Star-Pattern Tile Installation Progresses Inside the Peoples Bank Building

A distinctive interior floor feature is taking shape inside the Peoples Bank Building. Crew members are installing a patterned field of ceramic tile defined by a repeating eight-point star motif. The black-and-white tiles are set carefully within a bordered inset, reflecting early commercial design traditions.

Using a tile-leveling system, spacers, and hand tools, installers carefully position each tile to maintain a level surface and consistent spacing. A long level is used to check alignment across multiple rows, ensuring that the pattern remains straight and balanced from end to end. As additional sections are completed, the star design extends through the corridor, establishing a finished surface that combines durability with historic character.
