Interior Debris Removal Advances at the Brown Brothers Building

Inside the historic Brown Brothers Building, demolition crews are methodically returning the structure to its original framework. Sections of drywall, insulation and ceiling materials are being removed, revealing the building’s underlying wood framing and mechanical systems, which had been concealed for decades.

As the interior layers come down, crews transport debris out by wheelbarrows and stage it for removal, steadily transforming the space from a partitioned interior into a clean structural shell. This phase allows restoration teams to fully assess the building’s original construction and prepare the interior for the next stage of rehabilitation.
