Crews rebuilding the west wall of the Peoples Bank building completed a crucial structural phase. Following demolition of the former vault area to make room for a new stairwell and back hallway, workers uncovered an unsupported section of the west wall that was previously exposed to the elements.

To stabilize the area, masons enlarged the wall opening by removing loose brick and began laying concrete blocks to reinforce the structure. The adjacent space between buildings is also being framed with studs to accommodate future utility lines, supporting the building’s long-term adaptive use as a restaurant.
