Awning Painted in Historic Color Scheme at Telephone Building

Crews prepare the Telephone Building’s new awning for a fresh coat of protective paint.

The restoration of the Telephone Building continues with the application of fresh paint to its iconic awning. The awning has been painted in two colors, Marsh Brown and Mink, carefully selected by the designer to blend seamlessly with the building’s historic architecture.

To ensure a long-lasting finish, the painting contractor began by applying a primer layer to the metal awning. Once the primer was set, two coats of the chosen colors were applied, enhancing both the durability and aesthetic appeal of the awning. These shades complement the Telephone Building’s original design, creating a cohesive look that honors its early 20th-century charm while adding a fresh, modern touch.

This detailed painting process marks an important step in restoring the Telephone Building to its full historical grandeur, bringing back its distinctive character along Cleveland Street.
