As part of the ongoing renovation of the Peoples Bank building, the middle section of the east wall was fully demolished after being deemed structurally unsound.

With demolition complete, masons rebuilt the wall from the ground up, tying the new section into the existing structure to ensure strength and historical continuity. They used concrete blocks reinforced internally with steel rods and grout—a method that ensures the wall is solid and built to meet the building’s long-term structural needs.

Once the wall was complete, carpenters installed new wooden boards to connect the existing floor and roof systems to the new wall, seamlessly integrating old and new construction.

Now fully rebuilt, the east wall marks a major milestone in preserving and renewing this Cleveland Street landmark.
