Roof Slope Correction Underway at the Peoples Bank Building

New angled planks are being installed on the Peoples Bank roof to guide water runoff.
Crews install angled wooden planks to introduce the proper slope.

As restoration advances at the historic Peoples Bank building, crews are addressing a long-standing drainage issue on the roof. The original roof, formed when the Peoples Bank building structure was joined to an adjacent building, created a central ridge that prevented proper water runoff.

To correct this, carpenters carefully opened the roof assembly, removed protruding joists and partially demolished the parapet. New angled wooden planks were installed and covered with fresh sheathing to introduce the necessary slope for stormwater drainage.
