Fireproofing Completed on Telephone Building First-Floor Ceiling

Crews apply fireproofing paint to the first-floor ceiling.

Crews applied fireproofing paint to the ceiling of the first-floor tenant space in the historic Telephone Building, bringing it into compliance with current fire codes. This specialty paint expands when exposed to heat, forming a protective barrier that helps maintain structural integrity if there is a fire.

To meet local fire code requirements, painters applied a total of eight coats across the full ceiling area. The multilayered application ensures the necessary level of fire resistance while maintaining a clean, uniform finish throughout the space. The multi-day process marks another critical milestone in preparing the interior for future tenant use.
