Grease Traps Installed at Peoples Bank Ahead of Planned Restaurant Use

As part of adaptive reuse efforts at the historic Peoples Bank building, crews completed the underground installation of commercial grease traps. This critical step supports the site’s conversion into a food and beverage venue while meeting contemporary code requirements.

To complete the work, a large section of the first-floor slab was excavated to accommodate the vault-like traps, which were then delivered, precisely placed and buried beneath the future slab layer. The area is ready for concrete pouring, forming the foundation for new floor finishes and mechanical systems above.

Workers install grease trap below slab inside Peoples Bank Building during interior plumbing work.

Crews install an underground grease interceptor at the Peoples Bank building.

A crew member checks the elevation of the newly installed grease trap, ensuring it sits flush with the final slab grade.
