Interior Demolition Reveals Original Structure at Peoples Bank

Restoration of the historic Peoples Bank began with full interior demolition to remove nonoriginal materials and expose the building’s structural core. Walls, drop ceilings, doors and finishes were removed, along with electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.

This phase revealed original architectural elements and layout, giving preservationists and architects a clear foundation for future planning. The demolition allowed the team to design upgrades that align with the building’s historical form while meeting modern standards.
