Restoration crews at the Brown Brothers Building have begun stripping all remaining layers of paint from the exterior brick. This meticulous process uses a specialized compound that lifts decades of coatings without harming the original surface beneath.

The goal is twofold: To reveal the building’s original 1924 yellow brick façade and to ensure future treatments bond properly to the masonry. This method respects the building’s architectural history while laying the groundwork for a breathable, long-lasting finish that helps preserve the structure.
