Restoration of the historic Peoples Bank building has entered a new phase. Following a meticulous top-to-bottom demolition, crews have begun rebuilding the first-floor exterior walls using 12-inch concrete masonry units.

This marks a critical structural milestone in a project focused on returning the building to its authentic form. Earlier stages included removing multiple layers of flooring, dismantling nonoriginal balconies and fully exposing the original steel columns.

These new walls are more than structural—they’re foundational to a revival that honors the past while preparing the building for its future.
