Ceiling Fan Removal Prepares the Brown Brothers Building for Roof Assessment

Ceiling-mounted fans are detached prior to structural evaluation of the roof.

Ceiling fan removal has begun throughout the Brown Brothers Building as part of preparations for a structural review of the roof system. The fixtures are carefully disconnected and dismantled prior to the removal of the ceiling, which is necessary to allow for assessment of the roof system.

With the fans removed, crews can proceed with removing ceiling drywall, exposing the structure above for contractors to assess its condition, support system and any required repairs. This step will determine whether portions of the roof will need to be reinforced or replaced as the restoration progresses.

By clearing these mechanical fixtures and opening the ceiling, the project advances beyond interior demolition into a more technical phase—where structural integrity and long-term performance are evaluated before reconstruction begins.

Removed fixtures are staged after disassembly.
