Removal of Interior Fixtures Advances at the Brown Brothers Building

Interior fixtures are removed to prepare for reconstruction.

Crews are removing remaining fixtures, panels and built-in elements from the Brown Brothers Building as interior cleanup continues. This phase focuses on clearing out non-original materials and later additions that accumulated over decades of use, including wall panels, trim and interior furnishings.

By removing these elements, crews are returning the building to a clean baseline—free of alterations that obscured its original layout and architectural character. Interior corridors and rooms are becoming more defined as these layers are taken out, allowing the underlying structure to be evaluated more accurately.

As fixtures and materials are cleared, the project moves closer to reconstruction with an understanding of the building’s original form.
