Second-Floor Ceiling Removal Allows for Roof Evaluation at the Brown Brothers Building

Ceiling removal is underway on the second floor of the Brown Brothers Building as crews open access to the roof structure above. Using pry bars, workers dismantle drywall releasing insulation materials and exposing the wooden framing system that supports the roof.

With these layers removed, the full roof assembly becomes visible for structural inspection. This access allows specialists to evaluate framing conditions, identify any areas requiring reinforcement and plan for long-term restoration. The work represents a critical transition—from interior demolition to detailed structural assessment—ensuring that the building’s roof system can be properly evaluated.
